About this role
The purpose of the role is to help provide an effective and efficient advice service to members of the public.
Main duties involve:
Interview clients through a variety of channels; on the telephone, video advice through Attend Anywhere, email and face-to-face.
Find, interpret and communicate information; explore options and implications so that the client can come to a decision
Act, where necessary, on behalf of the client; negotiating, drafting or writing letters or making appropriate referrals
Complete clear and accurate case records
Recognise the root causes of problems and participate in research and campaigns
Keep up to date on important issues by attending the appropriate training courses and doing essential reading and attending office meetings
When you can volunteer
- Relevant qualification or training
- References needed
You will be required to volunteer at least 7 hours per week for a duration or at least 12 months following completion of training. (Begin as a Telephone Assessor before further training for Generalist Adviser)
This would be a minimum of 2 half days or 1 full day.
