Fundraising Assistant required. 8 - 10 hours per week ideally. Will be helping organising events, providing administrative assistance to the Fundraising Manager, creating social media posts and working with the community.

About this role

We are looking for an enthusiastic volunteer to work alongside the Head of Fundraising! Living Without Abuse is a domestic abuse and sexual violence charity, and the fundraising team not only raises vital funds, but also awareness for the cause.

Work will mainly be remote, but for events (which normally fall on weekends) you’ll be expected to be there. You will either need access to a car, or be confident on public transport. Currently this is a volunteer role, but we are applying for funding for it, but there is no guarantees.

Main responsibilities:

·        Connecting with local businesses to source sponsorship

·        Aiding in organising LWA events (Colour Run, Half Marathon, Winter Ball)

·        Working as second-in-command at events

·        Taking the lead on organizing smaller events (Markets, Quizzes, etc)

·        Write, design and schedule social media posts

·        Replying to comments on social media

·        Write monthly Newsletter articles

·        Replying to emails in the Fundraising inbox

·        Plan new marketing to raise awareness for LWA

·        Connecting with local community groups to increase support for LWA

Requirements

Requirements:
• Able to use Microsoft Word and Excel
• Confident with using internet/technology (we use Monday, Canva and Later)
• Confident in speaking to a variety of people – in person and on the telephone
• Well organized
• Friendly and understanding
• Willing to work events (weekends/evenings)
• You will be researching for social media posts, so you will need to be comfortable looking at facts and stories about domestic abuse and sexual violence.

Desired:
• Use of a car/driving license
• Knowledge of charity sector
• Use of Canva, Later and Monday
• Interest in a career in Not-for-Profit sector
