Leicestershire Shared Reading seeks an Information Leader to join our steering group. Our vision is to improve the wellbeing of as many people as possible in our local communities through the pleasure of shared reading together.

About the organisation:

Leicestershire Shared Reading (LSR) supports a thriving network of ‘Make Friends, with a Book’ shared reading groups.​ The groups, led by volunteer Reader Leaders, meet weekly either via Zoom or in person at public libraries around Leicestershire and are open to anyone to drop in and sit for a while, listening to stories and poems being read aloud.

We wish to recruit an Information Leader to:
To manage our shared document storage (currently Dropbox)
To manage the process of distributing monthly group reports to group leaders (currently using spreadsheets and mail-merged documents)
To manage our website File Share facility
To collate information for LSR’s Annual Report
To explore opportunities to simplify and streamline our systems for information collection, storage and sharing
As a trustee with digital skills, you can help ensure our steering group, and our group leaders, can access the information they need with greater confidence. As part of our steering group you will support and shape our work and strategic direction, and make an important contribution to achieving our priorities.

When and Where:

Volunteers should live within 20 miles of Leicester
Attendance required at Steering Group meetings (4 or 5 per year) plus AGM, in Leicester
Meetings are on weekdays in the daytime, but most of the work can be done at any time.

We are looking for: Team worker Good communicator Experience of information management systems – ideally being familiar with spreadsheets and mail-merged documents Experience of identifying digital solutions for information sharing Good time management for meeting deadlines Keen to be actively involved in steering our organisation Appreciates the power of bringing people together through a shared interest Able to attend 4 or 5 steering group meetings per year, plus the AGM
