• To welcome patients arriving in the hospital
• To direct patients to their destinations within the hospital accompanying them if necessary.
• To give general information to patients/relatives /visitors to the hospital.
• To feedback any issues/concerns/suggestions to staff
• To promote the use of the Patient Buggy Service
• To deliver E-Greetings towards/patients
• To push patients/visitors in wheelchairs
• To collect wheelchairs from around the site and return them to main receptions
Hospital Reception areas are busy areas of the hospital with patients and visitors accessing the building at all times. Each hospital has a high footfall of patients and visitors who may need assistance to get to their destination.
It is important that volunteers are visible and recognisable to help people arriving at the hospital.
Volunteers may be stationed at main reception areas in front of the desks to assist visitors on arrival to the hospital. Volunteers may be asked to support at other entrances and exits around the hospital.
Volunteers may also be stationed at lift lobbies and along the corridors throughout the hospital.
There are shifts available Monday to Friday between the hours of 9am – 4pm.
