Data Protection Lead to join Board of Trustees, helping our community library look after the data of it’s members, donors, volunteers and visitors in line with the law.
Data Protection Lead will advise the committee on the duties under the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018, in proportion to the library’s size and activities. Support volunteers to store and share personal data (membership, donor and volunteer records) safely and consistently, using agreed systems. Advise on how long different types of data should be kept, and help arrange safe disposal once no longer needed. Support the Committee in responding promptly to any data protection concern or breach, including reporting to the ICO where required. Identify Data Protection training needs for Trustees and volunteers, and help keep training records.
Data Protection Lead is flexible, with scheduled monthly committee meetings, and quarterly volunteers meetings. (Hybrid)
