Do you want to make a difference in your community? The Braunstone Community Fridge helps reduce
food waste and support local families by collecting and sharing surplus food.
We are looking for volunteers to help us run the community fridge during opening hours.

About the organisation:

We are a Community Fridge which serves the Braunstone Town area. The community fridge was set up by The Winstanley school and operates at the Braunstoen family hub on the school site. We collect surplus food which would go to landfill and give it out to anyone in the community. It is designed to be an environmental project, and a way of helping the local community. We are open from 1.30-3.00 on a Friday, during school term times.

Full Details:

The Kingsway North Community Fridge is looking for friendly and reliable volunteers to help us run our weekly sessions.
As a volunteer, you’ll:
 Help set up before opening.
 Welcome service users and have friendly conversations.
 Support with giving out donations.
 Assist with packing away at the end.

We provide:
 Free training + Food Hygiene Certificate.
 A supportive team environment.
 DBS check (essential for all volunteers – arranged and paid for by us).

If you’d like to meet new people, give something back to your community, and help reduce food waste, we’d love to hear from you.

We are open every Friday during the school term times. Volunteers needed from 1.00 until 3.15.
Volunteers do not need to commit to every week. We can set up a rota.

Specific Requirements or Restrictions

Volunteers must agree to take a DBS check, and complete a food hygiene certificate. We will pay for these.
