About this role
Volunteering as a Collection Tin Organiser in your local community, representing Rainbows means you can enjoy meeting with different people and take a real pride in knowing you are making a big difference in helping to raise essential funds through developing awareness of our work in your area.
Will it suit me?
This is a lovely volunteer role and one that fits around you and your spare time. If you enjoy getting out and about, like talking to others and are comfortable being responsible for handling cash donations, volunteering as ‘the face of Rainbows’ in your local community, will be perfect.
Typical tasks the work could involve
-
- · Identify premises where you may be able to display a collection tin such as local shops, pubs, petrol stations, leisure facilities and small businesses
-
- · Introduce yourself to the owner or manager of the premise to talk through Rainbows and what we do with the aim of encouraging them to display a tin on your behalf
-
- · Maintain relationships and arrange to empty or collect the tins to be replaced by an empty tin if needed
-
- · Keep an accurate record of donations received from each location over a period of time to notify us of the results
-
- · Bank donations on our behalf
Although it is not essential to be able to drive as you can just focus on placing and emptying tins in your local area, it would be an advantage if you are interested in covering a wider area or looking after a greater number of tins.
