Please support Parkinsons UK in Leicestershire by supporting us with local campaigns.
Parkinson’s UK works for people with Parkinson’s. Our campaign work is driven by the emerging needs of local communities. Working alongside the wider Parkinson’s UK team, we ensure that the voices of people with Parkinson’s, their families and carers are heard.
We campaign to local and national government bodies about benefits, healthcare, transport and many other issues. Our campaigns volunteers are a core part of our team and help us bring issues to life.
Our work involves influencing MP’s, health bodies and local councils, ensuring that the needs of people affected by Parkinson’s are considered in decision making. Campaigning can take many forms, and this is often dependent on the type of campaign and what the preferred style of the Campaign Volunteer is, some examples are as follows:
-Sending emails
-Petitions
-Writing letters
-Press stories
-Telling your story
-Protesting outside a building
-Writing policy position papers
-Responding to government consultations
Campaign volunteers can invest as much or as little time as they wish.
This is a remote opportunity. We are currently focusing on pieces of work in the Leicestershire area.
