Role Description: We are seeking skilled volunteers with expertise in business planning and financial management to join our team. This pivotal role involves refining our strategic approach and developing comprehensive business plans that align with our mission. The volunteer will analyse current operations, assess financial health, and contribute to long-term planning efforts.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct a thorough analysis of current operational strategies.
Evaluate financial health and identify areas for financial improvement.
Assist in the development and refinement of short and long-term strategic plans.
Collaborate with team members to ensure alignment with our core mission and sustainability goals.

Experience in strategic planning, budgeting, and non-profit management.
Strong analytical skills and a keen eye for detail.

Requirements

  • Relevant qualification or training
  • Willing to take a DBS Check

Ideal but not essential Educational Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
Professional certifications such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), or Certified Management Accountant (CMA). Any of these would be ideal but not essential.

Relevant Experience:
Experience in strategic planning and business analysis.
Background in financial management, budgeting, and fiscal analysis, preferably within the non-profit sector.
Experience in project management and operational optimisation.
Training Programs:
Courses or certifications in non-profit management and leadership.
Financial management and accounting software training, such as QuickBooks, Sage, or other relevant ERP systems.

Training in strategic planning methodologies and tools, such as SWOT analysis, PEST analysis, or Balanced Scorecard.

Specialized Knowledge:
Understanding of non-profit governance and regulatory compliance.
Knowledge of fundraising strategies and grant management.
Familiarity with the specific challenges and opportunities in the mental health sector, particularly how they intersect with business practices.
