About this role

The Baldwin Trust has two narrow boats, one based in Barrow upon Soar and the other at Thurmaston. These boats are used by us daily to provide trips for groups throughout the season (April to October). The crew for each trip is tasked with ensuring that the boats are left clean and tidy at the end of each trip. However, we are looking for one volunteer for each of our boats to act as the boat’s ‘housekeeper’.

This role will require the volunteer to visit the boat once each week through the season. There are two main aims which are stated above in the short description of the role.

No previous experience is required.

Initially you will be required to complete a volunteer application form and provide two referees. Once accepted we will provide induction training to ensure you are comfortable with your responsibilities. All purchase costs will be reimbursed using our receipting process.

As a Trust our aim is to enhance the well-being of all those who use our boats and that ambition applies to our volunteers too.
