Age UK Cafe Assistant

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Supporting the Chef and Catering Team in the preparation of ingredients for recipes selected from the menu
• Supporting the chef in the cooking of meals
• Assisting in the clearing up of preparation area including waste removal and washing up

• Setting up and clearing the dining area
• Tidying up, cleaning and replenishment of stock in the coffee bar area

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• A keen interest in cooking with a friendly and approachable manner
• A good understanding of kitchen and hygiene processes and requirements
• Ability to work as part of a team in a busy environment
• Energy and enthusiasm

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Adhere to all AULS&R policies and procedures.

2. Be aware of Health and Safety policy and guidance and act within Health and Safety legislation as designated in AULS&R Health and Safety manual.

3. At all times to maintain the professional integrity of the Charity and represent its main interests in any dealings with other bodies, groups, and individuals.

4. To be aware of and implement all Age UK Leicester Shire and Rutland policies in relation to the role specifically with regard to Health and Safety, Equality and Diversity, Confidentiality, Complaints, Safeguarding Vulnerable Adults and Access to Records.

5. Any other duties that may reasonably fall within the purview of the job.

6. You will exercise proper care in handling, operating, and safeguarding any equipment or appliance provided, used, or issued by AULS&R or provided by a third party for individual or collective use in the performance of your duties

A minimum commitment of 6 months is required due to the amount of training.
