About this role
VALUES believes in providing fun, friendly and productive activities for individuals with learning difficulties and as part of this VALUES run a Afternoon Tea session.
Volunteers are being sought to help support these sessions and the individuals who attend them. This is an ideal role for someone looking for meaningful and rewarding voluntary work with an additional interest in or passion for: going out in the community, being sociable, supporting others to access community facilities.
The role will involve working with small groups of individuals, supporting and supervising them in the weekly session which focuses on giving the group a chance to go out in the community to have a drink and something to eat, while socialising with other people in the group and being able to look around the local shops.
Volunteers supporting the interest groups will be supported by a VALUES support worker.
This role is ideal for someone who is confident and experienced in dealing with people. Experience of dealing with individuals with learning disabilities would be advantageous.
Individuals would need to be comfortable supervising and leading groups, as the role requires a certain level of self-sufficiency.
The session runs on a Monday 1-4pm, and we would ask that you are able to commit to the session every week.
