About the organisation:

For a deaf person in a hearing world, every day is a challenge. We are RNID: the national charity supporting more than 18 million people in the UK who are deaf, have hearing loss or tinnitus. We campaign to change public attitudes and help people hear better now. We fund groundbreaking biomedical research that will stop hearing loss and silence tinnitus. And we provide practical support and information over the phone, online and in local communities.

Full Details:

Volunteering with us could involve helping people get the most out of their hearing aids, or giving a friendly welcome to everyone who passes through the door at one of our support sessions. As a volunteer, you’ll be doing 6 main activities. However, you don’t have to do all 6 of these activities:

1. Information on hearing aids

2. Helping people check their hearing

3. Informing people

4. Meeting and greeting

5. Finding supporters and donors

6. Adminstration

Many of our volunteers have hearing loss themselves or in their family, and volunteering with us is a great way to meet new people, gain new skills and experience and make a valuable difference to people who are deaf, have hearing loss or tinnitus.

When and Where:

Weekdays (usually between 9am and 5pm). Minimum commitment of 2 hours per month, depending on your availability
